Precies lid sinds feb 2007 7766 bijdrages | woensdag 10 juni 2009 - 10:46 @ samenvatting huidige situatie: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Extract's Rossing South deposits are part of its huge Husab land position, which also has other significant uranium discoveries on it. In January this year, Extract annaounced an initial resource estimate, following JORC Code and Canadian NI 43-101 guidelines of 108 million pounds U3O8 at a grade of 430ppm. This estimate is only in Zone 1 of what Extract calls the Rossing South deposit. A second zone a short distance away is also estimated to contain over 100 million pounds U3O8 and the next resource announcement due later this year is expected to be considerably larger as drilling continues to define the resource. Rossing South is thus turning out to be one of Namibia's biggest uranium deposits to date - and there are a number of other highly promising ones in the African nation as well see: Namibia: uranium's new haven. Hot sector, hot stories. But of particular interest to investors is the way the battle for control will pan out. Dattels says, in a statement published today "Polo is committed to seeing the development of the Rossing South Deposit owned by Extract as a stand-alone operation. Work undertaken by Polo's technical advisor on a conceptual plan for the Rossing South Deposit, based on publicly available information, indicates that production is feasible as early as Q4 2011. This may be achievable as a 100% heap leaching operation, depending on the scheduling and results of feasibility work being undertaken by Extract." +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

G-Member lid sinds feb 2007 147 bijdrages | vrijdag 12 juni 2009 - 9:59 11th June 2009 Kalahari Minerals plc ('Kalahari' or 'the Company') Notice of General Meeting Kalahari Minerals plc, the AIM listed mining exploration and evaluation group with a portfolio of uranium, copper and base metal interests in Namibia, hereby announces that a circular containing a notice of general meeting will be sent to shareholders of the Company today(the "Circular") convening a general meeting of the Company to be held at Lawrence Graham LLP, 4 More London Riverside, London SE1 2AU, on 2 July 2009 at 10.00 a.m (the "General Meeting"). The purpose of the General Meeting is to seek shareholder consent for an increase in issuance authorities. The Company announced on 1 May 2009 that it had conditionally raised GBP17.89 million (before expenses) by way of a placing of new ordinary shares of 1 pence each (the "Placing Shares") at a placing price of GBP1 per Placing Share (the "Placing").The Placing was conditional upon the passing of resolutions at the Company's Annual General Meeting held on 12 May 2009 (the "AGM") which granted the Directors authority to allot such number of shares and disapply pre-emption rights. All resolutions were passed at the AGM and the Placing Shares were admitted to trading on AIM on 15 May 2009. Following the issue of the Placing Shares the Company has exhausted nearly all of the authority granted at the AGM in relation to the general disapplication of pre-emption rights. Accordingly, in substitution for all previous authorities granted at the AGM, the Company is seeking, pursuant to section 80 of the Companies Act 1985 (the "Act") Shareholders' consent to the renewal of, and an increase, in the general authority to issue 65,622,974 ordinary shares of 1 pence each in the Company (the "Ordinary Shares") and/or other securities and pursuant to section 95 of the Act, to disapply pre-emption rights in relation to 19,686,892 Ordinary Shares and/or other securities. In addition, the Company is also seeking shareholder authority in relation to the allotment of specific securities and the disapplication of pre-emption rights which would otherwise apply on allotment of such securities. As announced on 1 May 2009, the Company has agreed to issue its brokers, Ambrian Partners Limited and Mirabaud Securities LLP warrants to each subscribe for 447,250 Ordinary Shares in the Company, at a subscription price of GBP1 per Ordinary Share (the "Warrants") as part consideration for carrying out the Placing. The Warrants will be granted upon the Company obtaining authority from its Shareholders, under the Act, to allow the Directors to allot the Warrants and to disapply statutory pre-emption rights which would otherwise apply. Following a recommendation by the Company's remuneration committee, the Company also intends to grant the Directors and certain consultants to the Company a total of 3,900,000 options (the "Options") under the "Unapproved Share Option Plan for Key Individuals" which was adopted by the Company at the Company's annual general meeting held on 26 June 2007 (the "Share Option Scheme"). However, in order to grant the Options Shareholder's authority is again required under section 80 and section 95 of the Act. The Options granted to each Director and/or consultant will vest in the following manner: 30% on the date of grant; 25% on the first anniversary following the date of grant; a further 25% on the second anniversary following the date of grant; and the final 20% on the third anniversary. All Options will lapse on the fifth anniversary following the date of grant. In accordance with the rules of the Share Option Scheme the exercise price for the Options will be the higher of the nominal value of the Ordinary Shares and the average closing mid-market price of the Ordinary Shares for the three days immediately preceding the date of grant. It is intended that any such Options granted to the Directors will be granted immediately following the passing of the relevant resolutions at the General Meeting. If all such Options were exercised immediately on grant, such Options would represent 1.98% of the current issued share capital as at today's date. The Directors consider that the resolutions to be proposed at the General Meeting (the "Resolutions") are in the best interests of the Company and its Shareholders as a whole and accordingly recommend that Shareholders vote in favour of the Resolutions, as they intend to do in respect of their own legal and/or beneficial shareholdings, amounting in aggregate to 5,507,262 Ordinary Shares (representing approximately 2.8% of the current issued share capital of the Company). The Circular containing the notice of the General Meeting will be posted to shareholders today and is also available on the Company's website, www.kalahari-minerals.com

But analysts suggested the annoyance in China may not preclude further deals with Rio. John Meyer at Fairfax said: "Chinalco appears to remain open to potential joint venture partnerships with Rio Tinto despite disappointment over the collapse of their proposed deal. It has been suggested that Rio Tinto might sell stock in its uranium business to Chinalco as a way of saving face while raising further cash for Rio Tinto. "Investors in Kalahari Minerals are keen to see a bid for Kalahari Minerals and Extract [where Rio already owns stakes] whereby Rio Tinto might consolidate its land holding around the Rossing uranium mine for onward sale to Chinalco."

G-Member lid sinds feb 2007 147 bijdrages | dinsdag 16 juni 2009 - 13:07 Tuesday, 16 June 2009 - 11:43 UPDATE: Extract Resources Managing Director Resigns By Ross Kelly Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES SYDNEY -(Dow Jones)- Namibia-focused uranium explorer Extract Resources Ltd. (EXT.AU) Tuesday said Managing Director Peter McIntyre will resign in September just weeks after its largest shareholder called for his removal. Extract said in a statement it will immediately begin a search for a replacement. U.K.-based Kalahari Minerals PLC on May 27 requested that Extract hold a shareholder meeting to vote on McIntyre's removal from the company's board. After spending five years in the top job, McIntyre said his decision to resign was based on personal reasons. "There's been a lot going on with the company and obviously at the corporate level," McIntyre told Dow Jones Newswires. "I think the company is on a very good path, certainly with the development of our project over in Namibia." Promising assay results from its Rossing South venture in Namibia have helped Extract's share price to skyrocket this year, making it a A$1.54 billion company, and its share register has become a hotbed of activity. Kalahari last week bumped up its holding in Extract to 40% from 39.1%. Mining giant Rio Tinto Ltd. has taken a 15.6% stake in the company and Stephen R. Dattels Polo Resources Ltd. a 10.2% stake. Kalahari in November failed in a takeover attempt for Extract over fears the deal would give Rio Tinto, which also has an interest in Kalahari, effective control of the merged entity without having to pay a control premium. Kalahari said at the time that it failed to get assurances from Rio Tinto that it wouldn't seek to increase its stake and pulled out of the deal, saying its shareholders would never back it. Extract's Rossing South operations are located just seven kilometers away from Namibia's massive Rossing uranium project of which Rio Tinto has 68.6%. Late last month, as well announcing Kalahari's attempt to oust McIntyre, Extract also announced that Polo was intending to request another shareholder meeting to get Dattels on the board. Extract was also advised that in light of the proposed board changes, Rio Tinto had requested for a representative of its company to also sit on Extract's board. At the time, Extract said it considered Kalahari's request for a shareholder meeting a breach of an agreement where Kalahari agreed to withhold from calling further meetings, and said it was seeking legal advice. McIntyre's decision to step down could mean Kalahari will call off the meeting. Kalahari, however, would still like to get Mark Ainsworth Hohnen elected as a director of Extract. It's unclear where things will progress from here, but more fireworks at Extract look a certainty. Extract recently hired Rothschild Australia to conduct a strategic review of its business, which Extract said Tuesday is "well advanced". McIntyre expects to still be in charge of the company when it releases new resource statements in the coming weeks.

G-Member lid sinds feb 2007 147 bijdrages | donderdag 18 juni 2009 - 13:43 MEDIA RELEASE Additional Board Positions / Management Changes South Perth, Western Australia – June 18 2009, Extract Resources Limited (“Extract” or “the Company”) advises commencement of the process for appointing a Swakop Uranium CEO and local executive team to accelerate the development of the Rossing South deposit, a world-class uranium deposit discovered in 2008 immediately south of the famous Rossing mine. The Company is also well advanced with the prioritisation of the Strategic Review currently being conducted by Rothschild and with the scoping and feasibility studies being coordinated by GRD Minproc. To move the company into this new phase of development, the Board has decided to expand its composition to include nominated representatives of Polo Resources Limited and Rio Tinto Limited, both of which have significant shareholdings in Extract. The nominees to be appointed effective from or subsequent to 1 July 2009, subject to acceptances and other conditions being met, are respectively, Messrs Stephen Dattels and Chris Mc Fadden. The Board has, subject to conditions being met, further agreed to invite Kalahari Uranium Limited, which owns 40% of Extract's shares, to nominate an additional board representative to commence on or after 16 September 2009, such nomination is yet to be received and approved. In addition to the appointment of a CEO at Swakop Uranium, the Board will seek to appoint a replacement for the Managing Director of Extract, and will commence the search for a suitably qualified replacement immediately. The Board has consulted with the Government of the Republic of Namibia and with major shareholders in respect of these important developments. The result of consultation with shareholders is that the company expects the current requests to call shareholder meetings to be withdrawn. The Board is confident that the arrangements instituted around Mr McIntyre's departure and the actions already initiated around the fast-tracking of the development of Rossing South will ensure a smooth transition during the Company’s next phase of growth. It is worth repeating that Mr McIntyre’s commitment for the next three months and possibly beyond is of particular significance to the Company, with a number of key objectives on schedule for the Rossing South uranium project. These include an updated resource statement for Zone 1, a maiden resource statement for Zone 2, and scoping study results from the first phase of the feasibility study. About Extract, Extract Resources is an Australian-based uranium exploration company whose primary focus is in the African nation of Namibia. The Company’s principal asset is its 100% owned Husab Uranium Project which contains two known uranium deposit areas, Rossing South and Ida Dome. Extensive exploration potential also exists for new uranium discoveries.

G-Member lid sinds feb 2007 147 bijdrages | woensdag 24 juni 2009 - 21:05 Uranium Riches Spur Tug-Of-War For Control Of Extract. 24-06-2009 By ROSS KELLY Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES SYDNEY (Dow Jones)--A struggle for control of one of the world's biggest undeveloped uranium reserves has emerged as one of the fiercest corporate skirmishes in recent times, and analysts expect more fireworks. Extract Resources Ltd. (EXT.AU) has jumped eight-fold in value since December, as Rio Tinto Ltd. (RIO.AU) built a 15.6% stake, and rival investors began to campaign for a greater say in the future of its Rossing South venture in the southern African nation of Namibia. Interest in uranium has been ignited by Asian countries outlining plans to install vast amounts of nuclear power capacity in the coming decades, and European countries such as Sweden and the U.K. ending lengthy bans on new reactors. China alone will likely build as many as 90 reactors over the next 20 years, its top energy official said recently. Namibia, with around 5% of the world's known recoverable reserves of uranium, is being courted by several heavyweight players in the nuclear industry. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will begin a state-visit to Namibia Wednesday, and diplomats say discussions will include energy ties. Rossing South is six kilometers away from the massive Rossing uranium mine that's jointly owned by Rio Tinto Ltd. (RIO.AU) and the Namibian government, and which produced 8% of the world's uranium oxide in 2008. Testing at Rossing South has turned up good results, indicating a potential resource that analysts say could exceed 250 million pounds of uranium oxide. This has helped catapult Perth-based Extract's market capitalization to A$1.65 billion on the Australian Securities Exchange from A$200 million in December. However, corporate activity has also driven the rally. In the past year there has been an aborted takeover attempt for Extract, Rio Tinto and a company headed by London-based mining entrepreneur Stephen Dattels has turned up on Extract's share register, and two chairmen and now managing director Peter McIntyre, have left the Extract board. Australia-based McIntyre's resignation last week came weeks after Extract's biggest shareholder, UK-based Kalahari Minerals PLC (KAH.LN), called a shareholder meeting to vote on his removal. McIntyre said he left for personal reasons after five years in the job, but added: "There's been a lot going on with the company and, obviously, at the corporate level." "I think the company is on a very good path, certainly with the development of our project over in Namibia." Kalahari ousted Extract's former chairman Bob Buchan in February, also by calling a special shareholder meeting. AIM-listed Kalahari tried to buy Extract outright last year, but its shareholders became concerned when Rio Tinto built stakes in Extract and Kalahari. They called off the merger for fear Rio Tinto would take control of the fused group without having to pay a premium. Predators Watching Rio Tinto's investments, coming at a time when it was still seeking to bring down its debt burden, underscores its ambition to double its uranium output by 2013. It has a similar interest in Kalahari to its 15.6% stake in Extract. "Rossing will work with Rio Tinto and Extract Resources to determine the benefits that might arise from a joint venture for development of Rossing South," Rio Tinto said in a report released on Rossing's Web site this month. Rio Tinto is an obvious suitor for Extract due to its proximity to the Rossing mine, but other companies would likely be taking a look as well, said Brock Salier, a London-based analyst at Ambrian Capital. "We think state interest will come from the Chinese, South Koreans and Indians, while private companies that must be looking closely include Cameco Corp. (CCJ)," he said. Much will also depend on Dattels's vision for the company. He's been moving up Extract and Kalahari's share registers and holds 10.2% and 9.9% stakes in them, respectively, through companies like Polo Resources Ltd. (PRL.LN), which he chairs. Dattels has an established track record in unlocking value from undeveloped uranium deposits. He founded UraMin Inc., which was sold to France's state-owned Areva SA for US$2.5 billion in 2007. Another significant holder in Kalahari is AIM-listed Niger Uranium Ltd. (URU.LN) with a 15.6% stake. Its acting chief executive, Ian Stalker, was the former CEO of UraMin. Extract said Thursday it has invited Dattels, Rio Tinto representative Chris McFadden and another Kalahari representative, most likely chairman Mark Hohnen, to join its board. "Kalahari welcomes the invitation of Dattels and McFadden to the board and supports the involvement of Rio Tinto and Polo Resources in the development of Extract," Hohnen said in a statement Thursday. Spokespeople for Polo Resources and Niger Uranium were unavailable for comment. Paul Adams, a Melbourne-based analyst at DJ Carmichael, said Dattels and Kalahari are likely part of a team that wants either to develop Extract in their own right, or enjoy the spoils of a big takeover bid. "When the Kalahari guys were unable to mount a successful takeover, the next best thing was to get somebody else in there to somehow get control of the company," Adams said. Several companies, including Rio Tinto, Areva, Cameco or Chinese state interests will be eyeing Extract, he said. Key updates for Rossing South are due in the coming weeks, with a possible "huge third-quarter positive newsflow looming", says Resource Capital Research analyst Tony Parry. "The market is now starting to understand that Rossing South is shaping up to be one of the world's largest uranium deposits," says Parry, who has a Buy recommendation on Extract shares and A$7.50-A$8.00 price target versus their latest trade of A$6.81. Extract has hired Rothschild Australia to do a strategic review of its business, which it said last week is "well advanced".

Recent rumours have suggested that privately-owned South African chrome miner Samancor is ready to table a cash offer of £1 a share. Kalahari Minerals soared 18.2p to 132¾p as investors recognised the stock was trading at a hefty discount to uranium explorer, Extract Resources, in which it holds 40 per cent. An Ambrian recommendation in the wake of the results left Avocet Mining 1p dearer at 81p. The broker says that Avocet now offers a backstop to a falling gold price as it now has a good production growth profile. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

But the depressing statistic only tells half the story, in that sentiment has shifted from what Tyndall equity head Bob Van Munster dubs "grimace to grin" in the space of months. As the growing league of optimists are quick to point out, the All Ordinaries index has gained 6.6 per cent in calendar 2009 and is up 25 per cent on its March 3 nadir of 3111 points. As with all recoveries, not everyone has enjoyed the ride. Of the S&P/ASX 200 stocks, the year's big winners were Namibian uranium explorer Extract Resources (up more than 400 per cent), WA's Karoon Gas (83 per cent) and short-order online travel group Wotif (64 per cent). At the other end of the spectrum, holders in drilling services group Boart Longyear have seen their investment erode 87 per cent. Property trust laggards Goodman Group, FKP Property and ING Industrial all recorded falls of 83 per cent or more. Along the way, corporate Australia has bolstered its balance sheet with an orgy of equity raising -- $64 billion for 47 of the top 100 companies since June last year, according to investment bank UBS. This week's erratic trading -- and the flow of variable economic data -- suggests there's plenty of fodder for the bulls and bears. But inasmuch as the market can reach consensus on anything, the experts agree the market will not re-test its March horrors. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Precies lid sinds feb 2007 7766 bijdrages | donderdag 2 juli 2009 - 8:40 @ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Thursday, July 02, 2009 Extract Resources Announces Big Jump In Uranium Resource At Rossing South In Namibia In news that is likely to be well received by investors, Extract Resources (ASX: EXT) has announced a new JORC resource estimate of 145 million pounds of uranium (U308) for Zone 1 Rossing South Project in Namibia. This is a 34% increase from the previous estimate, 20 per cent of that resources in now in the Indicated category. Overall resource grade has also increased to 449 ppm u308. This represents the highest granite-hosted uranium deposit in Namibia. A maident resource for Zone 2 at Rossing South is due in August 2009. Together, on current trends would place Rossing South into the top 1p global uranium deposits by containted metal. Importantly, both Zone 1 and Zone 2 desposits are still open along strike and down dip, pointing to possibility of additional resources. Extract’s Managing Director, Peter McIntyre, said “The significance of the recent high grade intersections we have been reporting, are now being reflected in this major deposit. This resource base is expected to support a long life, large scale open pit mining operation and a feasibility study is in progress to quantify this potential.” +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We zullen moeten afwachten.

Greetings Extractors, Great result this morning. From fig 2, it does look increasingly likely that zones 1 and 2 do join up. At worst, there is not much gap between them. I attended this morning’s Kalahari EGM but first, I must hold my hands up to having missed the train that I had intended to catch and, as a result, missed the formal meeting. Nevertheless, my trip accomplished its main purpose. Please note that comments made to me at the meeting are NOT a reflection of my views - I am simply trying to report as accurately as I can what was said, so draw your own conclusions. Don't shoot the messenger! The formal meeting was quick (I was only about 6 minutes late). It appeared to have been chaired by David de Jongh Weill, no other Board members or Rio representatives were present (so it was clearly viewed as a formality) and I raised my questions with him when I arrived. He advised that Coronet had not voted – and that all resolutions had been duly carried. In conversation with analysts after the meeting DdJW indicated that “Extract executives had been the problem” and that “Mark [Hohnen] had done an excellent job”. The fact that Coronet didn’t vote indicates to me that a clear agreement must have been reached with Peter McIntyre. DdJW also appeared to indicate to the analysts that some form of deal regarding the development of Rossing South was close to being struck. I asked him whether any Extract Board members had met with the Russian delegation last week. He said that he did not know. From his tone, I formed the impression that the answer was probably “no”. Finally, I asked about funding for Niger Uranium. As on the last occasion, he demurred on giving a direct response (market sensitive) but did suggest that I wouldn’t have to wait long until this issue is resolved. It occurs to me that if the deal to develop Rossing South is in the form of an asset sale, that could simultaneously resolve any funding issues regarding URU. Coupled with this morning’s “ahead of expectations” resource upgrade from Zone 1, I remain optimistic on prospects for EXT, KAH, URU, EML and PRL (I am currently invested in all of these apart from PRL). He did explicity mention a deal concerning the development of Rossing South in conversation with the analysts but I didn't get any clues on the nature of it. I also got the impression that Peter hadn't been very keen on the particular deal that was proposed, judging by DdJW's remarks concerning Extract management. Remember that talk is cheap, we'll just have to wait & see what happens. In the meantime, the value in Rossing South is becoming increasingly obvious, month-by-month.

G-Member lid sinds feb 2007 147 bijdrages | dinsdag 7 juli 2009 - 15:22 Link: http://www.thisisafricaonline.com/news/f... Powering Asia’s nuclear future Two men inspect the dome of a nuclear power station Demand from India and China for nuclear fuel and innovation in power plant design are contributing to renewed optimism in uranium mining. Peter Guest reports. All the indications were that 2009 would be a bad year for everyone in mining apart from the canaries, but a combination of technological advances, Chinese efficiency and Indian demand has kept uranium miners on song. In the latter part of this decade, the nuclear fuel story is very much an Asian one. Early indications are that the most important consumer of nuclear technology in the 21st century will be China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group (CGNPG). This state-owned Chinese energy company has embarked on a massive project to construct 10 new power stations to feed the country’s industrial demand, which is still high, despite flagging slightly in the face of the global economic slowdown, and currently dependent on fossil fuel imports. A chain of deals In November 2007, French nuclear company Areva won the tender for the construction of its European pressurised reactor facilities, an 8bn ($10.3bn) deal unprecedented in scale and scope. As well as the technology, the contract included waste disposal facilities and, crucially, fuel supplies. CGNPG agreed to buy 35 percent of the production of UraMin, the Canadian uranium mining company that Areva paid $2.5bn for that same year. Just over a year later, Areva agreed to sell 49 percent of UraMin to CGNPG. This created ripples beyond France and beyond China, and was why, in January of this year, Australian Mark Hohnen, executive chairman of Kalahari Minerals, was asked to go to Korea to talk to the national resource company, Kores. The Chinese deal was won, many analysts believe, on the issue of security of supply, over and above considerations of the quality of technology. “The Koreans missed out [on the CGNPC deal], Mr Hohnen says. “And you know why they missed out? Because Areva could guarantee the supply. Areva sold [CGNPC] 49 percent of Trekkopje.” Kores chief executive Kim Shin-jong said in January this year that the company would continue to look for uranium investments overseas in order to help strengthen Korea’s energy security. Mr Hohnen went, instead, to London to share with investors the progress of his company’s uranium properties in Namibia. Kalahari Minerals is exposed to that country through its 40 percent shareholding in Extract Resources, which works mainly along the huge alaskite belt to the west of Windhoek, home to the Rossing mine that is 69 percent-owned by Rio Tinto and 15 percent by the Iranian government. Extract Resources’ operation is just to the south of Rossing. To the west is the Goanikontes deposit, developed by Bannerman; to the northeast, the Valencia deposit, owned by Forsys Metals; and to the south and south east are Deep Yellow’s Tubas deposit and Paladin Resources’ Langer Heinrich project, respectively. Further north is UraMin’s Trekkopje deposit. “This is now becoming one of the most serious uranium provinces in the world,” Mr Hohnen says. Uranium from Trekkopje will fulfil part of Areva’s deal with CGNPC. The acquisition cost for Areva is estimated at around $15/lb.

Since i attended NWTs AGM held on June the 30th in Toronto i wanted to update the interested reader: 1. AGM (and the most important fact for us) Our managment is pretty confident, that the Extract/Kalaharideal will be concluded till the end of the summer. They said what then will happen,is that URUs pays a dividend to their shareholders thus cashing up NWT significantly. This statement received further support from someone i know from England who attended Kalaharis EGM held on July the 2nd,where the managment hinted in the same direction. Now this is big news for us !!! (See calculation in the end) 2.VIETNAM The main future project for NWT will hopefully be Vietnam.Consants talks are going with government represantitives and the managment hopes to deliever some news on this at the end of july. (David Subotic-director said: "..if we get some licences there,we could talk about a billion !!! dollars...") Nothing is signed yet,but the managment is very optimistic. 3.URU just released the results for Henkries: http://ww7.investorrelations.co.uk/niger/... Not very much they found, but encouraging grades. And dont forget since URU holds "only" 5,624 % of Extract,it is enough if they just find about 5,624 % of what Extract discovered in order to make the same money. Mr.Stalker earlier said it is enough to find 10 Mlbs to make Henkries a profitable mine.It looks like there will be no problem reaching this amount. 4.Placing of URU URU placed some new shares yesterday to meet shortterm financial needs in which NWT participated according to their 33,8 % stake so that they didnt get diluted. This newly raised capital should be enough for URU until an Extract/Kalaharideal is concluded. http://ww7.investorrelations.co.uk/niger/... Now to the fun part: The probable sale price of Extract/Kalahari: I will give several options here ranging from very, very low to justified until very optimistic.Anybody who has done some research will know what i am talking about. Extract already proved 172 Mlbs: Zone 1: 147 Mlbs Ida Dome: 25 Mlbs Zone 2 will be published in august and is expected to be around 100 Mlbs. However since Extract already discovered uranium several kilometers away from these zones meaning a possible Zone 3 and 4 and it may well be possible that Zone 1 and 2 will link up there is a lot of upside potential. 1.The very, very conservative calculation ( Zone 2 only 78 Mlbs;no Zone 3 or 4;sale price of 8 US/lbs) 250.000.000 lbs x 8 US-Dollar = 2.000.000.000 US-Dollar URUs (= 5,624%) part in this being 112.480.000 US-Dollars NWTs (=33,8% of URU part in this is 38.018.240 US-Dollars or 44.053.588 CAD-Dollars = 0,35 CAD/share You see already about three times higher than today shareprice. 2.But in my eyes the following calculation will be a much better evaluation (and still is conservative) (Zone 2: 100 Mlbs;Zone 3: only 28 Mlbs,no Zone 4,sale price 10 US/lbs) 300.000.000 lbs x 10 US-Dollar = 3.000.000.000 US-Dollar URUs (= 5,624%) part in this being 168.720.000 US-Dollars NWTs (=33,8% of URU part in this is 57.027.360 US-Dollars or 66.080.370 CAD-Dollars = 0,52 CAD/share so now to some dreaming but still possible, those who did their research will know... 3.Optimistic calculation (Zone 2: 150 Mlbs,Zone3 +4: 78 Mlbs, sale price of 12 US/lbs) 400.000.000 lbs x 12 US-Dollar = 4.800.000.000 US-Dollar URUs (= 5,624%) part in this being 269.952.000 US-Dollars NWTs (=33,8% of URU part in this is 91.243.776 US-Dollars or 105.728.593 CAD-Dollars = 0,83 CAD/share So probably in two months time this company will enter a new time area. Andres (long ext en nwt).

EXTRACT Resources said it may receive a takeover offer from a consortium comprising a miner and a customer. Extract also said it will consider an equity raising to fund the development of its Rossing South uranium project in Namibia as a stand-alone venture or, as an alternative, may consider forming a joint venture with the massive Rossing uranium mine 6km to the north. Perth-based Extract's shares have soared since December, as Rio Tinto built a 15.6 per cent stake, and rival investors began to campaign for a greater say in the future of its Rossing South project, considered to be one of the world's most promising uranium deposits. UK.-based Kalahari Minerals has 40 per cent of Extract and London-based mining entrepreneur Stephen Dattels has 10.2 per cent through Polo Resources. Extract's investor relations manager, Richard Henning, said Polo has indicated it bought into Extract because it saw an opportunity to create some competitive tension between Rio and "another party". Mr Henning said Extract doesn't know the identity of the other party. "The one thing we do know is that Rio are miners and a number of the other companies that are showing interest in us are not miners," he told an investor briefing today. "I think at some point we're going to attract the interest of a consortium between two companies; one which will be a miner, one which will be the end user...And then our shareholders will be given a choice - do you want to accept that sort of a bid or do you want the company to keep doing what it's focused on." Mr Henning estimated a stand-alone uranium project at Rossing South capable of producing 15 million pounds of uranium oxide a year would cost about $US600 million to construct. He said Extract's stake holders haven't yet decided how they might source that capital but noted that Extract's impressive share price performance has given it more funding flexibility. The operational Rossing mine to the north of Rossing South is jointly owned by Rio and the Namibian government, and produced 8 per cent of the world's uranium oxide in 2008. Extract has hired Rothschild Australia to conduct a strategic review of its business and Mr Henning said it's considering the merits of a joint venture with the Rossing mine. "We're looking at the opportunity of working with them...they'd need to enhance the plant significantly," Mr Henning said. "But our focus is very much on a stand-alone processing plant." Rio Tinto said in a report released on the Rossing mine's website last month that "Rossing will work with Rio Tinto and Extract Resources to determine the benefits that might arise from a joint venture for development of Rossing South." Extract has already proven a resource of 145 million tonnes of uranium oxide at Zone One of Rossing South and expects to release the maiden resource assessment for Zone Two and a study either next week, or the week after, Mr Henning said. The company is targeting a resource of 100 million tonnes at Zone Two and is also exploring the possibility of establishing a third mining zone. Mr Henning said Extract expects to appoint a new chief executive within the next few months after former chief executive Peter McIntyre last month announced he will resign next month. AIM-listed Kalahari tried to buy Extract outright last year, but its shareholders became concerned when Rio built stakes in Extract and Kalahari. Kalahari ousted Extract's former chairman Bob Buchan in February by calling a special shareholder meeting and it had called a similar meeting to consider McIntyre's position before he resigned.

The company and its adviser, Rothschild, are reviewing “various corporate and business options” to bring the mine into production, Extract said. The company has received no takeover offers, it said, responding to an unspecified media report. Extract rose 2.8 percent to A$6.96 in Sydney trading. Extract Resources (EXT) Fat Prophets; Hold recommendation; No price target; Last traded at $6.96. WITH the spotlight back on uranium stocks, Extract is pleased with the timing of its recent resource upgrade at its Rossing South project in Namibia, Africa. "The data and enhanced resource reinforces our long-held and overwhelmingly positive view of Rossing South as one of the premier uranium discoveries anywhere in the world," Fat Prophets said. The Rossing South Zone 1 resource was upgraded by 34 per cent from the previous estimate of 108 million pounds to 145 million pounds, at an average grade of 449ppm. The Perth miner had to clarify speculation last week that it was a potential takeover target. It told the Australian Securities Exchange on Friday no offers had been received by it, but it confirmed that several third parties had been in contact to express interest in participating in the development of its flagship project. Fat Prophets said it was eager to see the maiden Zone 2 uranium resource, which is on track for August. "From our perspective, the Zone 2 resource should be in the vicinity of 110 million pounds (management guidance 69-106 million pounds)," the analysts said. "We would anticipate a combined Zone 1 and 2 resource position of around 350 million pounds during calendar 2010, potentially pushing up towards the 500 million pounds mark as initial results from Zones 3 and 4 begin to kick in from 2010 onwards. "So this monster is only going to get bigger and as a result we believe that the corporate situation is sure to come to a head within the next 12 months."

Precies lid sinds feb 2007 7766 bijdrages | woensdag 22 juli 2009 - 21:07
Extract Quarterly Results - 'Zone 3' appears in Rossing South 29 July 2009 Extract Resources (in which Kalahari* owns a 40% stake) has announced quarterly results. The company had A$28.9m at the end of June. The company reiterated its confidence in exceeding its 300Mlbs at Rossing Zones 1 and 2, and releasing new drill results with highlights of 60m @ 2,752ppm and 114m @ 790ppm. The company also released an updated drilling map, indicating that drill results of >1000ppm have been intersected 2.8km to the south of Zone 2. Having reviewed the geology on site this month, it’s too early stage to be convinced that a Zone 3 JORC resource will be forthcoming (only one line of drilling), but given the along-strike position from Zone 2, we see this as an extremely exciting exploration target. The company has also discovered a calcrete resource (secondary weathering product); looking at the geology we expect that this will add an additional resource, but we think it will not only be lower-grade (100-200ppm), but will also be dwarfed by the Rossing South resource.

The report states that preliminary cost estimates on the granite hosted, uranium mineralisation at Rossing South in Namibia indicates that the project can support a viable open pit mining operation developed to feed a 15M tpa agitated tank sulphuric acid leach processing plant. Annual production has been estimated at 14.8M lbs U3O8 with capital costs estimated at US$704M and operating costs of US$23.60 per lb U3O8. Extract Resources Managing Director, Mr. Peter McIntyre, said "the preliminary cost estimates report indicates a conventional open pit mining operation with an agitated tank leach process plant is expected to support a profitable and sustainable mining operation for +20 years." "This report represents our base case study and we are continuing with our metallurgical testwork and engineering optimization that will consider other options including a heap-leaching component," he said. Namibia has outstanding infrastructure which would greatly assist the development of the Rossing South project. The project area is located about 55 kms east of the coastal town Swakopmund and north east of the deep water port of Walvis Bay. Equipment and materials for constructing and running the mine could be brought in through Walvis Bay. Mr McIntyre said "the availability of infrastructure combined with the confirmed resource and the outstanding exploration potential still to be tested on the Husab project, should ensure a long and successful mining operation centred on Rossing South."

G-Member lid sinds feb 2007 147 bijdrages | vrijdag 14 augustus 2009 - 10:26 Voor de geïnteresseerden mensen, een nieuwe research report over Extract. RBC Capital Markets initiated coverage of Extract Resources this week with a $11.50 target Event We are initiating coverage on Extract Resources, an Australian-based uranium exploration company with Namibian assets, with an Outperform, Speculative Risk rating and a 12-month target price of $11.50/sh. Investment Opinion Extract's focus project is its Rössing South uranium project in Namibia where a 267 million pound resource has already been identified. We believe that Rössing South is among the best undeveloped uranium resources in the world and that its size, grade and expected ease of permitting will make it a highly sought after project by all large uranium producers and utilities with significant and growing uranium fuel needs (e.g. China and India). We believe that Rössing South will be developed into a 15 million pound per year mine in 2013 with a capital budget of US$800 million and operating cash costs of under US$24 per pound. This will rank Rössing South as one of the largest uranium producing mines in the world. Given the quality and size of Rössing South, we expect the company will have many suitors. One major company, Rio Tinto, has already established a ~22% foothold in Rössing South through a direct (15%) equity stake and indirect holding through Kalahari Minerals (~6%). Rio Tinto's stake is a significant investment, but we do not believe it is large enough to successfully block a rival bid. Valuation: Our target price of $11.50/sh is based on a 1.25x NAV multiple. We believe the premium multiple is justified by: the very high quality of the project; its location in Namibia (arguably the best country in which to permit a uranium project); exploration upside; and our belief that the Rössing South project will be highly sought after by all major uranium players and that it will become a key strategic uranium producing asset.

G-Member lid sinds feb 2007 147 bijdrages | maandag 17 augustus 2009 - 21:02 Link: http://www.minesite.com/nc/min.../1.html August 17, 2009 A Bright Future Beckons For Kalahari Minerals As Extract’s Uranium Resource Base Continues To Grow And Grow By Charles Wyatt Aim-traded Kalahari Minerals may have a portfolio of projects In Namibia that includes gold and base metal projects, but uranium via its 40 per cent holding in Extract Resources is key to its future. On the telephone from Perth executive chairman Mark Hohnen says the other assets, which include the Namib lead-zinc project, the Ubib copper-gold project and a couple of properties on the Kalahari copper belt are all being assessed at the moment, and that their future will be decided before the end of the year. Extract's main asset is the Husab uranium project, located approximately 45 kilometres north-east of Namibia's main port - Walvis Bay. The project is strategically located within what is called Alaskite Alley, which is named after the granitic rock there that’s composed mainly of quartz and alkali feldspar, the same rock that hosts the uranium mineralization for several world class uranium deposits that are in the area. Two of these deposits are already in production – Rio Tinto’s 68 per cent owned Rossing Uranium deposit to the north, which supplies eight per cent of the world’s uranium, and the Langer Heinrich deposit to the east, owned by Paladin Resources. Rossing has been in production for the last 30 years, while Paladin Resources brought Langer Heinrich into production in early 2008. Both of these deposits are located within 30 kilometres of Husab, itself split into the Rossing South and Ida Dome deposits. The resources at Rossing South continue to grow and grow, and as the mineralization is open at depth and along strike there is no reason to believe that the end is yet in sight. Indeed, Mark Hohnen is prepared to suggest that Extract has the ground and potential to deliver a resource in the region of 500 million pounds U3O8. This would rank it near the top of the top ten of the world’s biggest uranium deposits. Small wonder Rio Tinto is keeping a very close eye on progress and has shareholdings in both Kalahari Minerals and Extract Resources. At the moment these amount to only 13.9 per cent and 15 per cent respectively, but the UK giant must wish it had had the courage to make a pre-emptive move for both companies in the depth of the chaos that engulfed the junior mining sector at the end of last year. At that time the share price of Kalahari went as low as 25p, compared with the present 179p per share. Extract put up a similar performance. But at that time too, Rio Tinto had problems of its own with the Chinese, the Australian authorities, and BHP Billiton, so probably took its eye off the ball. Even the biggest mining companies are prone to do this when the world’s finances are in complete disarray. At the beginning of July Extract announced a further 34 per cent increase in the resources at Zone 1 of Rossing South. At the time Mark Hohnen said: “These results yet again underpin that Rossing South is one of the world's most significant uranium discoveries. The increase in resource for Zone 1 to 145 million lbs of U3O8 at 449 ppm [parts per million] is fantastic news and in line with our estimates. Additionally we were hugely excited about the increase in grade which makes Rossing South the highest grade granite hosted uranium deposit in Namibia”. Mark was in danger of running out of superlatives, but later that month he had to dip into the barrel again when Extract announced a maiden resource for Rossing South Zone 2 of 122 million pounds U3O8 at 543 ppm. This time he commented: "These are incredible results which ensure that Rossing South is now one of the largest uranium deposits in the world. The 82 per cent increase in the resource at Rossing South and the grade quality mean this project is truly world class. Including Ida Dome, Extract now has a JORC compliant resource in excess of 290 million pounds U3O8 of which 267 million pounds U3O8at an average grade of 487 ppm is from the two zones at Rossing South”. Ida Dome should certainly not be overlooked as it also has the potential to expand its resource, but Mark is now starting to get excited about the potential of Zone 3 at Rossing South. Extract has not said much about this to date, but exploration is taking place there and the initial feedback is very promising. No wonder the estimate of an eventual resource for Rossing South plus Ida Dome has now reached the 500 million pounds mark. The latest announcement from Extract is that a preliminary costs estimate study has been carried out at Rossing South, and the result is positive. The conclusion was that the project can support a viable open pit mining operation developed to feed a 15 million tonnes per year agitated tank sulphuric acid leach processing plant. Annual production has been estimated at 14.8 million pounds U3O8, with capital costs estimated at US$704million and operating costs coming in at US$23.60 per pound of U3O8. As Peter McIntyre, managing director of Extract says, “this profitable operation could have a life of more than 20 years based on current resources. We are continuing with our metallurgical testwork and engineering optimization that will consider other options including a heap-leaching component.” The current market capitalisation of Kalahari is £344.75 million (US$558.4 million). Now that the stage has been reached of carrying out cost estimates it is permissible to put a value on the company’s assets. At the moment Kalahari has a 40 per cent interest in Extract’s uranium resources and it would be reasonable to value these at US$6.00 per pound, compared with the current market price of US$48 per pound, based on the prices applicable in recent takeovers. On this basis a value of US$700 million emerges, but this only applies to the current resources. If and when the combined resources reach 500 million pounds the value for Kalahari would be US$1.2 billion. It is worth remembering this hefty discount as Extract gets steadily closer to production, as Mark Hohnen reckons it will reduce steadily over the months ahead. Talking about production, it is certainly Extract’s intention to achieve this as soon as possible. Mark reckons that if everything goes to plan and schedule – feasibility, funding and construction – uranium could be produced from Rossing South by the end of 2012, with such a rapid startup being due to the prevalence of infrastructure and the project’s proximity to the coast. Mining projects rarely run on rails so the beginning of 2013 looks a safer bet, but either way a bright future beckons for both Extract and Kalahari.

In ieder geval lastig dus. Groeten, Mark

winst in EXT doet verdwijnen ...

markh lid sinds feb 2007 1749 bijdrages | woensdag 19 augustus 2009 - 11:10 @SHR: Mee eens. Groeten, Mark

G-Member lid sinds feb 2007 147 bijdrages | dinsdag 25 augustus 2009 - 17:28 A$91 Million Equity Raising by Extract Resources SOUTH PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 25, 2009) - NOT FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES OR TO UNITED STATES NEWSWIRE SERVICES. Extract Resources Ltd ("Extract" or the "Company") (ASX:EXT)(TSX:EXT) has launched a A$91 million equity raising by way of a non-renounceable pro-rata offer to eligible shareholders and a private placement to accredited institutional investors. The equity raising comprises: - A one for 35 non-renounceable pro-rata offer of Extract ordinary shares ("New Shares") at an issue price of A$7.75 per New Share, a 19.9% discount to the theoretical ex-rights price(1), to raise A$50.7 million ("Entitlement Offer"); and - The sale on an underwritten private placement basis of 5.2 million Special Warrants ("Placement"), at an issue price of A$7.75 per Special Warrant, for gross proceeds of A$40.3 million. The Placement will be made outside of Australia, and is expected to be made mainly in Canada and the United States. (1) Theoretical ex-rights price of $9.67 calculated using Extract's closing price on 25 August 2009 and assuming proceeds from the Entitlement Offer of A$50.7 million. Proceeds of the Entitlement Offer and the Placement will be used to accelerate exploration activities at the Rossing South project in Namibia including accelerating and increasing the drilling programmes for Zones 1 and 2 and to extend and accelerate the regional exploration programme which will include areas of identified mineralisation located South of Zone 2. Proceeds will also be used for the Definitive Feasibility Study and for working capital and general corporate purposes. Peter McIntyre, Managing Director of Extract, said "Rossing South continues to deliver in terms of expanding an already world class resource and the equity raising is expected to allow Extract to significantly accelerate the exploration program. This equity raising, together with completion of the Rossing South Definitive Feasibility Study is expected to assist in developing Rossing South through the next phase." Entitlement Offer The Entitlement Offer comprises a non-renounceable pro rata offer of New Shares to eligible shareholders. Eligible shareholders will be entitled to apply for one New Share for every 35 Extract shares ("Shares") held at an issue price of A$7.75 each per New Share. A maximum of 6.54 million New Shares will be issued under the Offer, raising up to A$50.7 million. The New Shares will rank equally with the Company's existing Shares on issue. Extract's three largest shareholders Kalahari Uranium Limited (40%), Rio Tinto International Holdings Australia Pty Limited (15%) and Polo Resources Limited (10%) have each provided irrevocable commitments to apply for their full entitlements in the Entitlement Offer and each to subscribe for any shortfall from the Entitlement Offer in the same proportion as their holding in Extract as at the Record Date. The Record Date for the Entitlement Offer will be 5.00pm (AWST) Monday, 7 September and existing Shares will be quoted on an ex-entitlement basis on Tuesday, 1 September. Further details of the Entitlement Offer will be set out in the offer document which is expected to be released to ASX on Friday 28 August and provided to eligible Extract shareholders by mid-September. Placement The Company has entered into an agreement with underwriters led by BMO Capital Markets ("BMO") and including Haywood Securities Inc. ("Haywood") who have agreed to purchase, on an underwritten private placement basis 5.2 million Special Warrants of the Company at an issue price of A$7.75 per Special Warrant, for gross proceeds of A$40.3 million. Ordinary Shares to be issued upon the automatic exercise of the Special Warrants will settle only in Canada on Extract's Canadian sub-register which is typically traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange ("TSX"). Each Special Warrant will be automatically exercised for no additional consideration into one Share on a one-for-one basis. The Special Warrants shall be automatically exercised at 5:00 p.m. (Toronto time) on the earlier of the following dates: (i) the third business day after the date ("Clearance Date") on which a receipt is issued by the securities regulatory authorities in each of the provinces in Canada other than Quebec ("Qualifying Jurisdictions") for a final prospectus qualifying the Ordinary Shares to be issued on exercise of the Special Warrants; and (ii) the date which is four months and a day after the closing date ("Closing Date") of the Placement. Special Warrants will not entitle the holder to participate in the Entitlement Offer and the issue of Shares under the Entitlement Offer will not give rise to any adjustment to the number of Ordinary Shares to be issued on exercise of a Special Warrant. The Closing Date for the Placement is expected to be on or about 15 September 2009. The proceeds of the Placement will be held in escrow, pending the earlier to occur of the time at which BMO shall be satisfied in its sole discretion, acting reasonably, that the maximum amount of approximately A$50.7 million will be raised in the Entitlement Offer, and the Allotment Date of the Entitlement Offer. The Special Warrants and Ordinary Shares issuable on exercise of the Special Warrants are subject to resale restrictions in Canada for a period of for months from the closing date. Extract will use commercially reasonable best efforts to file and obtain a receipt for a prospectus in all Qualifying Jurisdictions within 30 days following the release of Placement funds from escrow. In the event the Clearance Date has not occurred by 75 days after the Closing Date, each unexercised Special Warrant will thereafter entitle the holder to acquire 1.05 Ordinary Shares. The closing is subject to receipt of regulatory approvals, including approval of the TSX. The Placement is also subject to an underwriting agreement to be signed with BMO and Haywood, which will contain such representations, warranties, covenants, conditions, indemnities, termination provisions and other terms and conditions that are usual for Canadian special warrant transactions. This press release is not an offer to sell, or a solicitation of an offer to buy, any securities. The securities referred to in this press release have not been and will not be registered under the United States Securities Act of 1933, as amended, and may not be offered or sold in the United States absent registration or an applicable exemption from registration requirements. Impact of the equity raising Extract's full year results to 30 June 2009 are still being finalised and subject to final audit review. The table below provides a preliminary assessment of the impact of the A$50.7 million equity raising on the Company's unaudited balance sheet as at 30 June 2009. Company update Extract has received and filed an updated Technical Report under Canadian National Policy 43-101 - Standards of Disclosure for Minerals Projects on SEDAR. The report relates to its Rossing South project in Namibia and is published in relation to a significant upgrade to the Zone 1 resource statement and an initial resource statement for resources at Zone 2 as previously advised to the ASX. Rossing South's potential to be one of the world's largest uranium mines has been recognised by a number of global uranium industry players, many of which have expressed interest in participating in the future development of the project. The Company, assisted by Rothschild, continues to review the various corporate and business options aimed at bringing Rossing South into production in the most effective manner. A wide range of development options and funding alternatives are currently being evaluated but no decisions have been taken yet. Extract has held, or intends to hold, discussions with a number of industry participants in respect of potential partnering or business combination scenarios that have the potential to add value to the project and to Extract shareholders. Rothschild is acting as Financial Adviser, Clayton Utz is acting as Australian Legal Adviser and Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP is acting as Canadian Legal Adviser to Extract in relation to the equity raising. About Extract Extract Resources is an Australian-based uranium exploration company whose primary focus is in the African nation of Namibia. The Company's principal asset is its 100% owned Husab Uranium Project which contains two known uranium deposit areas, Rossing South and Ida Dome. Extensive exploration potential also exists for new uranium discoveries.

The uranium explorer and developer, who already has an impressive shareholder register, announced today that it would raise A$91 million at A$7.75 per share through eligible shareholders and institutional investors. Extract’s three largest shareholders, Kalahari Minerals (AIM: KAH), Rio Tinto (LSE & ASX: RIO) and Polo Resources (AIM: PRE), who hold 40%, 15% and 10% respectively, confirmed that they would be taking up their rights. The three companies also irrevocably committed and agreed to subscribe at the issue price, for any additional New Shares not subscribed for by the other holders of shares in Extract, in the same proportion to their current holding in Extract. The proceeds raised by Extract Resources will be used to accelerate the exploration of the Rossing South uranium project in Namibia, which has a current resource of 267 million pounds of U3O8 @ 487 parts per million. Rossing South is still open along strike and at depth. Kalahari Chairman Mark Hohnen said, "Extract's fund raising, which is effectively underwritten, represents both the next stage of its development as it advances its world class uranium portfolio and the huge value accretion potential of its assets. We maintain the belief that Extract has the ground and potential to ultimately deliver a total resource in excess of 500 M lbs U3O8 from the entire Husab Project, which will easily place it amongst the largest uranium companies in the world. We have supported Extract's development initiatives and will continue to do so as it looks to explore further zones of uranium mineralisation south of Zone 2 at Rossing South and initiates the Definitive Feasibility Study, a pre-requisite for assessing further the production potential of the project." "Importantly, our institutional investors have always been aware of the need, and have actively encouraged us, to maintain our circa 40% shareholding in Extract, as they recognise the huge upside potential of its assets. Indeed our last fund raising of £17.89 million conducted in May this year, with new and existing institutions, was considerably over subscribed. The Board is therefore highly confident that the investor appetite for Kalahari's fund raisings will be maintained and there will be little dilution for Kalahari following Extract's funding. I look forward to working with Extract to maximise the value of its portfolio and updating the market on our progress as we look to deliver shareholder value." +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Precies lid sinds feb 2007 7766 bijdrages | maandag 31 augustus 2009 - 9:21 @ VERBAZINGWEKKEND...!!!

Precies lid sinds feb 2007 7766 bijdrages | woensdag 2 september 2009 - 9:33 Kalahari haalt geld op alsof het op straat ligt: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Tuesday, September 01, 2009 Kalahari Minerals Says Extract’s Rossing South Likely To Hold Third Mineralised Zone by Andre Lamberti Kalahari Minerals PLC (AIM: KAH) announced a further fundraising aimed at maintaining its 40 percent stake in Extract Resources Ltd (TSX, ASX: EXT) which controls the Husab project in Namibia and its Rossing South uranium deposit. In a separate statement, it said exploration at Rossing South is increasingly indicating a third mineralisation zone along the same trend as Zones 1 and 2, and believes that the true scale and magnitude of the Rossing South project is some way off from being understood. Kalahari has conditionally raised £20 million via placing 11.76 million new shares at 170 pence each. Furthermore, the company is in advanced discussions to raise an additional £10 million before expenses through the issue of convertible bonds, details of which will be published shortly. Kalahari will use the funds to satisfy its commitments with regard to the proposed A$91 million equity raising announced by Extract last week so as to maintain its stake. Extract has announced that the proceeds of its proposed fund raising will primarily be used to accelerate and increase the drilling programmes for Zones 1 and 2 and to extend the regional exploration programme which will include areas of identified mineralisation located south of Zone 2. Kalahari chairman Mark Hohnen said: "The Rossing South prospect continues to deliver outstanding results that underpin our confidence in the potential of this uranium prospect. Exploration lines in the newly identified Zone 3 have yielded some exceptional results which reinforce the potential of a third zone of mineralisation.” +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Precies lid sinds feb 2007 7766 bijdrages | woensdag 2 september 2009 - 9:34 @ 2) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Kalahari cited an Extract statement from yesterday saying that chemical assay results have confirmed strong uranium mineralisation 1.2 kilometres south of the current Zone 2 resource area. Reverse circulation drilling at the potential new zone returned 72 metres at 676 parts per million triuranium octoxide, including 35 metres at 866 ppm U3O8. Extract is confident that a second line of drilling, 400 metres to the South, will continue to extend and increase the known dimensions of mineralisation. Extract Resources Managing Director Peter McIntyre, said: “The rapid growth of Zones 1 and 2 is now being complimented by the potential of a third zone of mineralisation along the same Rossing South trend. The potential of the entire 15 kilometre trend is enormous, with some degree of mineralisation being encountered on every line drilled to date." Extensive exploration potential still remains to be tested throughout the Husab project with priority given to Rossing South. One RC rig is currently drilling at the Salem prospect, approximately 10 kilometres south of Rossing South. Initial handheld spectrometer results on drill samples, from all the holes completed so far at Salem, are very encouraging - with numerous zones of uranium anomalism being returned, according to Extract. Ambrian Capital issued a note on Kalahari, calling the news a double-wammy for Extract, and by extension Kalahari. It previously valued Kalahari at £2.19 per share, but has now suspended its valuation and recommendation pending admission of the new shares to trading. Regarding the first results from Zone 3, the broker said this is the first hole released “and we expect more like it.” Although only one hole has been assayed chemically, the company map shows five more holes with good grades and widths from hand held spectrometry. “With these new drill results confirming our speculative view of Zone 3, and Salem likely to add to this, we are now confident that the resource will ultimately reach 500 million pounds of U3O8, and may even exceed that,” it added. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

wbooij1257 lid sinds apr 2007 235 bijdrages | donderdag 3 september 2009 - 8:40 @ DEALTALK-Mine find, Rio bid chatter propel Extract shares higher Thu Sep 3, 2009 12:16am EDT * Shares have risen 635 percent since Jan * Rio Tinto may eye bid in the future -sources By Joseph Chaney, Asia Resources Correspondent HONG KONG, Sept 3 (Reuters) - Investor enthusiasm over a recent find in Namibia by uranium miner Extract Resources (EXT.AX)(EXT.TO) and speculation of a takeover linked to the find have sent the company's shares up more than seven-fold this year. Rio Tinto (RIO.AX)(RIO.L) owns 15 percent of the company, and investment bankers familiar with Rio's ambitions say the global giant may one day want to own the whole thing. Shares of Extract traded at A$1.31 on December 31. On Wednesday the stock closed at A$9.63. That extraordinary gain comes as Extract and other uranium experts say its Rossing South project could be one of the largest uranium deposits in the world, and analysts say speculation is mounting that a deal with a larger competitor may be in the pipeline. Though Rio Tinto may ultimately bid for the whole company, bankers and analysts say, it would not happen immediately given that Rio has its hands full with its BHP Billiton (BHP.AX)(BLT.L) iron ore joint venture. In its 2008 annual report, Rio said that Rossing Uranium -- 68.6 percent controlled by Rio -- will seek a joint venture agreement with Extract on the Rossing South project. Kalahari Minerals Plc (KAH.L), holds a 40 percent stake in Extract. Rio, in turn, has a 15.8 percent stake in Kalahari. "There's obviously a game that will be played out for Extract," Paul Adams, head of research at DJ Carmichael told Reuters. "In my view it is unlikely that Extract will be the miners of this project. It's getting to a size where other parties are definitely going to be interested and that's what we've seen. The battle of control for Extract is all around that." Last week the company, which has a market cap of roughly $1.8 billion, raised A$91 million for exploration -- but the miner needs much more than that. Regarding Extract, an Australia-based investment banker told Reuters: "Well, I wish I'd put ten grand in that a while ago." "I'd hazard to guess the project will cost somewhere around $500 million to build," the banker added. "You've got a chunk of that already, but you've got some money there to rustle around for. Some sort of offtake financing deal will probably be the most likely."
wbooij1257 lid sinds apr 2007 235 bijdrages | donderdag 3 september 2009 - 8:42 @wbooij1257: 2 Extract itself says it needs more than $500 million. Last month the company estimated the Namibia-based deposit indicates annual production of 14.8 million pounds of uranium oxide (U3O8), with capital costs of $704 million and operating costs of $23.60 per pound of U3O8. The investment bankers declined to be named because they were not authorised to speak publicly about the matter. "We know that Rio is interested in a joint venture which they published in their annual report months ago," said Richard Henning, a spokesman for Extract. "We are not in a position to comment on any deals," he added. "Any talk of Rio taking over the company is purely speculative." Rio Tinto did not return calls seeking comment. "WORLD CLASS" ASSET In July, Extract said the Zone 2 inferred resource for Rossing South was 122 million pounds of uranium oxide (U3O8) at a grade of 543 parts per million (ppm), taking the combined Rossing South resource estimate to 267 million pounds at 487 ppm. Including its Ida Dome project, Extract now has a resource of more than 290 million pounds of U3O8. "These are incredible results," Kalahari Chairman Mark Hohnen said at the time. "The 82 percent increase in the resource at Rossing South and the grade quality mean this project is truly world class." In addition to Rio Tinto, China may also be interested in Extract as it seeks to fuel the growth of its nuclear energy industry, one of the bankers said. Australian uranium miner Paladin Energy (PDN.AX)(PDN.TO), which has operations in its home country and Africa, is in talks with Chinese companies to strike a joint venture deal worth up to $450 million, its CEO told Reuters last week. [ID:nHKG150715] Rio Tinto's Rossing and Paladin's (PDN.AX) Langer Heinrich uranium mines are also located in Namibia. "There is no question there is a tremendous appetite for uranium and nuclear energy, in China in particular, but also in India in a nascent sort of way," said one of the investment bankers. "There's a lot of dancing going on." (Editing by Muralikumar Anantharaman) http://www.reuters.com/articl... Wim

''Hi All I attended Extract's presentation a the Africa Downunder Conference today. The presentation was really nothing different from the last one, which is already posted apart from the new drilling updates. However Peter Mc did give us a few more pieces of the Extract puzzle way, as follows: Continuing to test the remaining 9kms of RS. The geo's believe that the dark purple areas on the image in Figure 1 of Appendix 1 in the lasted drilling update have the same signature as Zone 1 and 2 The company expects to have a resource of well over 300Mlb by Christmas, growing to a resource bigger than McArthur River, (i.e around 500Mlb), by this time next year. Zones 4 & 5 should be defined within 12-18mths. Total exploration cost are running at less that 10 cent per lb, due to the high grades which are becoming even higher. Extract's sent production estimate of 15Mlb per annum, would put it a close second, to the worlds biggest producer McArthur River's at 16Mlb per anum. Peter Mc believes that the next 12 months will be even more defining and exciting for Extract than the previous 12 months. Considering all of the above he was thinking of changing the name of Rossing South to Rossing Big.''

Extended zones 1 and 2 at the project could contain more than 500 million pounds of uranium oxide, making the deposit the biggest after BHP Billiton's Olympic Dam in Australia, Hohnen told Reuters in an interview. Additional resources could also be added from Zones 3 and 4. Early test results from Zone 3, released on Monday, confirmed strong uranium mineralisation. Kalahari holds around 40 percent of Extract Resources , the owner of Rossing South, and sees itself as a key player if there is a takeover of the project. "They (a potential buyer) can't do anything with Extract or the resource without having Kalahari on side," Hohnen said on Thursday. Extract shares have jumped more than seven-fold this year on upbeat news from the deposit and speculation of a takeover. "I guess they are all scratching their heads working out what they are going to do," said Hohnen, referring to potential buyers. "Of late there has been interest. We have talked to Rio and I think they would love to do it." Rio Tinto has a 67 percent holding in the nearby Rossing mine, supplier of about 8 percent of the world's uranium and which is located 7 km from Rossing South. Analysts have said European utilities could also be looking, although Areva, the world's biggest maker of nuclear reactors, might struggle to raise sufficient funding. In 2007, the French group bought UraMin, owner of the Trekkopje mine in Namibia, for $2.5 billion. Asia is also interested and countries in the region may consider offtake agreements, Hohnen said. "The Koreans, the Chinese and the Indians are all trying to guarantee supply," he said. GROWING DEMAND Demand for uranium is growing. More nuclear power plants being built as countries scramble to cut emissions by reducing their dependence on fossil-fuel generated energy. There are 436 nuclear power reactors in operation globally and 49 under construction, Resource Capital Research said in its September uranium sector review. It said 413 new reactors were planned as of August, up 30 percent in the last year alone. Keith Watson, an analyst at Mirabaud Securities, valued Rossing South at $1.56 billion as a stand alone project or $2.02 billion assuming a combination with the neighbouring Rossing mine. Speculation has also surrounded the timing of a potential deal, with some analysts saying buyers will wait until a feasibility study is completed. A full feasibility study is expected in mid 2010 and production is set to start in 2013. Kalahari is also interested in raising its stake in Extract, Hohnen said. Shares in Kalahari have jumped to 190 pence from 44 pence at the end of 2008 on hopes for the deposit, but Hohnen said there should still be a takeover premium in the price. Ambrian Capital estimates total resources at Extract's Husab project - consisting of Rossing South, Ida Dome and a new Salem prospect - at around 560 million pounds of uranium oxide. Spot uranium prices are currently around $46 a pound after hitting a record $136 in June 2007 due to revived interest in nuclear energy. Rossing South has current estimated resources of 267 million pounds of uranium oxide.

Russian uranium miner sees price up in 2010 Thu Sep 10, 2009 11:52am * Spot uranium seen lower short-term before 2010 rise * Project in Namibia with Areva to be discussed in October By Chris Baldwin LONDON, Sept 10 (Reuters) - Russia's state uranium miner sees the price of spot uranium likely falling further in the short-term, but then climbing back up beginning in 2010, the company's general director said on Thursday. Atomredmedzoloto (ARMZ) general Director Vadim Zhivov said on the sidelines of the World Nuclear Association Symposium in London that an imperfect pricing system and price fluctuations from smaller deals had brought instability to the market. "But we are convinced that even within these conditions...prices on the world market will rise in 2010-2011," Zhivov told reporters. Spot uranium UX-U3O8-SPT on Thursday sold at $46 per pound, down from a record around $136 in June 2007. Last November Zhivov said ARMZ planned to invest 203.6 billion roubles ($6.54 billion) by 2015 to fund massive expansion as global nuclear power sector demand grows. [ID:nLQ593978] In July Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin granted ARMZ 50 billion roubles in order to finance the expansion, which in June saw it acquire 17 percent of Canadian miner Uranium One (UUU.TO) and secure licences to mine as far afield as Namibia. NAMIBIAN PARTNERSHIP Zhivov also said the company, which is the mining arm of Russian state atomic agency Rosatom, would hold negotiations with French state-controlled nuclear reactor maker Areva (CEPFi.PA) on "uranium projects" in October. "We will meet with Areva in Namibia in the first week of October for discussions on uranium projects in Africa," Zhivov said. Demand for uranium is growing as more nuclear power plants are being built by countries scrambling to cut emissions and reduce fossil-fuel dependence. In 2007 Areva bought UraMin, the owner of the Trekkopje mine in Namibia, for $2.5 billion. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev flew to Windhoek in June as part of a trip to promote Moscow's economic interests in Africa. Namibia's uranium resources are attractive to the Kremlin, which has ambitious plans to build more than two dozen new reactors at home in the next 15 years. In 2007 Namibia was the world's sixth-largest producer of uranium with around 2,879 tonnes, accounting for some 8 percent of world output, according to the World Nuclear Association. ARMZ, which produces uranium in Russia and Kazakhstan, plans to produce 4,300 tonnes of uranium this year, up from 3,880 tonnes in 2008. In June 2008 there were 439 nuclear reactors operating in 30 countries, with a total capacity of 372,000 megawatts. (Editing by Keiron Henderson)
