Nautilus: De varende goudmijn

Nautilus Minerals Inc ("Nautilus") is following the lead by the offshore oil and gas industry to tap vast offshore resources. It is the first company to commercially explore the seafloor for massive sulphide systems, a potential source of high grade copper, gold, zinc and silver. Nautilus is developing a production system using existing technologies adapted from the offshore oil and gas industry to enable the extraction of these high grade Seafloor Massive Sulphide ("SMS") systems on a commercial scale.

The world's first seafloor copper-gold project, Solwara 1, is under development in Papua New Guinea. Utilising technologies from the offshore oil and gas, dredging and mining industries, the project will mark the launch of this new deep water seafloor resource production industry.

Prodigy Gold (voorheen Kodiak) - nieuwe ronde, nieuwe kansen.
Iemand de laatste tijd nog nog Prodigy Gold gekeken? Tot 1 januari heette dit nog Kodiak,  maar het bedrijf was wel aan een nieuwe naam toe, enerzijds door het mislukken van een paar grote projecten, anderzijds doordat
er een paar naamgenoten zijn in de olie/gas sector.
Tegenwoordig hebben ze een hele mooie asset in Magino.
Aantal aandelen 184 miljoen. Warrants en opties 37 miljoen. Laatste koers C$ 0.43. Market cap ca 80 miljoen. Cash 11 miljoen.
Magino is binnengekomen via een fusie met Golden Goose in augustus 2010.
Toen de fusie in december 2010 rondkwam zijn ze snel begonnnen met proefboren.
Magino was een oude mijn, dat heeft z'n voordelen want veel infrastructuur is er al - een weg, hoogspanningskabels, wat gebouwen, etc.
Tot de fusie werd Magino vooral als ondergrondse mijn gezien. Maar Prodigy is er anders naar gaan kijken: ze wilden de mijn als open pit gaan ontwikkelen.
Die pogingen waren al snel succesvol. een greep uit de boorresultaten van december 2010:
114.0 metres grading 1.84 gpt gold in drill hole 06-15
53.4 metres grading 2.43 gpt gold in drill hole 06-14
63.0 metres grading 1.40 gpt gold in drill hole 06-12
72.7 metres grading 1.19 gpt gold in drill hole 06-13
Al erg snel daarna rapporteerden ze een resource estimate voor Magino als open pit.
1,9 miljoen Oz Indicated met gemiddeld 1,16 g/T (bij 0,35g/T cutoff) met ook nog eens 580.000 Oz Inferred goud.
Als we conservatief zijn met een hoge cutoff van 1,0 g/T , houden we nog steeds een hoop goud over: 1,2 miljoen Oz a 1,9 g/T.
